Melanie has over a decade of experience as a VAWG campaigner having been a victim herself of an attempted rape by a stranger in 2014 when returning home from work. Her advocacy has included getting a law on victim anonymity tabled in the Victim rights Bill, mediating lived experience workshops between victims and police and chairing the Women's Safety Committee for a national data for good campaign with Women In Data. She has recently founded Safe Circle - a victim led consultancy specialising in victim support, corporate training and male allyship.
