The Violence Against Women and Girls & Public Protection Conference 2026

"I am delighted to be opening registration for the inaugural NCVPP Conference. Being bold about policing’s role in tackling the epidemic that is VAWG and wider public protection harms is our call to action. This is a conference tailored to senior police leaders, with experts in the field and strategic partners alongside to support our thinking. We have been challenged to set and deliver new national standards and we need you to be in the room to help us.

Over two days we will step through a series of demanding and thought-provoking sessions: from sexually motivated crimes in public spaces to the threat from extreme online misogyny. We will consider the opportunities and challenges of more centralised VAWG capabilities, including how dangerous offenders are tackled nationally, and we will explore what police reform means for this.

It is my ambition to have a representative from each force Chief Officer team to join and engage in the conversation. Your voice and insight is critical to delivering the change our communities deserve".
