Domestic Abuse Alliance - WEPROTECT

The WEPROTECT mobile app from the Domestic Abuse Alliance provides a free, immediate referral pathway for victim-survivors, ensuring rapid access to civil legal support and protection measures.

Already adopted by 12 UK police forces, as well as specialist domestic abuse services, housing providers and healthcare teams, WEPROTECT streamlines routes to legal protection and survivor safety.

The WEPROTECT team of call handlers and caseworkers guide individuals through the civil legal process. Where needed, they will connect victim-survivors to a solicitor’s firm in its Legal Partner Network to obtain a civil protection order, typically a Non-Molestation Order, Occupation Order or Domestic Abuse Protection Order.

Police forces can access the secure, online WEPROTECT portal to monitor real-time referral data and legal outcomes.

A recent Home Office-funded evaluation of WEPROTECT highlights its benefits as a valuable intervention to assist survivors who may not otherwise engage with police-led processes to pursue legal protection.
