Rachel has over 25 years of policing experience across multiple forces and specialist units. She began her career with Gloucestershire Constabulary, progressing through investigative and covert roles to Detective Inspector. She later served with the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit and Avon and Somerset Police, where she led homicide investigations and Public Protection as Detective Superintendent. After senior command training, she became Assistant Chief Constable before joining the Met as Commander, later leading serious violence work. She has since held senior roles in Gwent Police and the Met and in 2025 became Assistant Commissioner for Professionalism. She is the NPCC lead for Internet Intelligence and Investigations and proudly serves as Deputy Chair for Senior Women in Policing
