Ross joined Warwickshire Police in 2000 and has undertaken various roles during his 25 years service.
Ross has been NPCC Staff Officer to the National Vetting portfolio for 11 years, and is the national tactical lead for vetting, currently leading the response to the recommendations of the Angiolini Inquiry and national vetting reform.
Ross has developed a real flair for academia and evidence-based policing; in 2018 completing a degree in Policing and Criminal Justice, obtaining first class honours, a masters degree in Criminal Psychology in 2022, and is currently undertaking a Doctorate in Psychology at Bournemouth University focussing on behavioural risk factors within policing.
