Claire joined West Midlands Police in 1996, working her way up through the ranks in Local Policing, Operational and Crime roles. Graduating from the Strategic Command Course in 2022, Claire was appointed in January 2023 as an Assistant Chief Constable.

Claire has a passion for Public Protection and vulnerability, developing the force’s Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy. Previously Claire has been the force lead for Missing Persons, Rape and Alcohol Harm and Vulnerability.

Claire took up her current role as Deputy Director for the National Centre for Violence Against Women and Girls and Public Protection in June 2025.
